UHCC area of operation comprises an area of approximately 1,636,719 ha with a population of around 50 000 people. The region has a diverse topographical range, from the temperate rainforest of the Barrington Tops to the semi-coastal regions of the lower Hunter River Valley and contains over 500,000 ha of National Park and Nature Reserves.

District Biosecurity Officer
The Upper Hunter Weeds Authority (UHWA) has a permanent, full-time position available, based in the Muswellbrook district of the Upper Hunter. The position require excellent communication skills with the main duties involving the inspection of private and council lands for high priority invasive plants, the preparation of records of inspection and the identification and treatment of various invasive plants. The positions also require involvement in public awareness activities such as field days
